DeWieSe: Protecting Meadow Birds with Smart Acoustics
divVoice partners with Fraunhofer IDMT, ARSU, and Museum für Naturkunde Berlin for acoustic wildlife monitoring using Embidio hardware and ConHive IoT platform.

divVoice joins a research consortium with Fraunhofer IDMT, ARSU GmbH, and Museum für Naturkunde Berlin for the DeWieSe project — developing intelligent acoustic sensors to detect and protect meadow bird populations.
divVoice Contribution
- Custom Embidio Modules: Weather-resistant hardware adapted for outdoor deployment with low-power operation
- ConHive Platform: Remote device management, firmware updates, geolocation tracking, and data streaming
Application
The system identifies bird species through acoustic signatures, monitors populations over time, and provides early warnings for population decline. The technology enables sustainable conservation without disturbing natural habitats.
"This project shows how acoustic intelligence extends far beyond traditional voice applications," said Alexander Schwarz. "The same core technology that powers medical devices can protect biodiversity."
